4 Cameras:
The next-in-line Galaxy handset is expected to have four onboard cameras — dual cameras at the back as well the front of the device. Two 16-megapixel cameras at the back and two 8-megapixel ones at the front might provide users a good field of vision and let the users differentiate easily between background and foreground, essential for augmented reality based applications. Another expected S9 feature is depth sensing which would create better focus around the subject in images.

The company’s upcoming device — the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 — is also rumored to have dual cameras, but only at the rear of the device.
Screen-embedded fingerprint sensor:
The display-embedded fingerprint sensor is a tough feature to get correct. The Apple iPhone 8 and even the Galaxy Note 8 were tipped to have a display-embedded fingerprint sensor, however, due to the challenges involved in making edge-to-edge displays, none of the devices are now expected to have it.
Since there is time until the device’s release in 2018, Samsung might be able to include a display embedded fingerprint sensor on the S9, according to KGI B analyst Ming Chi-Kuo. But according to knowyourmobile, screen-embedded finger print sensor will skip Galaxy S9 to Note 9
Bigger battery:
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to have a 4,200 mAh battery. Samsung has improved on its battery technology since the last year. Now that it has successfully demonstrated that it can make batteries that don’t explode, chances are that it will make bigger batteries on next year’s devices, especially since such batteries might need to support features such as a 4K display.
4K Display:
The Galaxy S8 might have set a trend with its edge-to-edge display, but the company could also improve on its resolution on the next-generation device. The current Galaxy S8 has a 2K display with 1440x2960p resolution while the upcoming device is expected to have a resolution double of that.
A 4K display is not a new concept, in fact, some Sony phones already come with such a display, but it has never been executed properly, most phones with such high-resolution displays heat up fast and high since they processor, the GPU and the RAM are unable to support.

If Samsung is able to do it, that too on an edge-to-edge display, it might become a selling point for the device.
7nm processor:
The Samsung Galaxy S8, largely won the processor battle from other phones such as iPhone 7 since it comes with a 10nm processor that provides better performance than the traditional 14nm processors. The company is expected to build on the technology and endow the Galaxy S9 with 7nm processors which would be even more efficient.
